Ferguson Resource Group Ltd are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer based in Cambridge on behalf of one of our Global FM and Real Estate Clients.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will ensure all plant and installations are always maintained and kept fully available and operational. To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown works on electrical/mechanical systems as well as being available to carry out other tasks in line with the contract’s needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure that routine PPMs are carried out on all assets in accordance with site task schedules and asset lists.
• Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
• Ensure adequate supplies of critical spares/consumable stock are maintained to facilitate a first-time fix on all electrical/mechanical installations.
• Provide information to allow repair proposals to be completed in line with SLA’s.
• Deliver Quoted Works within SLA timescales and budget.
• Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times.
• Ensure that all record keeping is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is updated Concept CAFM.
• Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.
• Ensure that Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work are followed and be prepared to provide information for their production, to ensure all tasks are undertaken in line with our QHSE policy.
• To develop a good working relationship with all members of staff, subcontractors and the client representatives.
• To ensure that accurate digital records are maintained to allow trend analysis.
• Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of the company are always secured and are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
• Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.
• To operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with client/company Quality, Health & Safety
procedures and client requirements (or approved client system).
• To arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.
• To undertake lone working when and where required following local procedures.
• To ensure tasks as directed are completed with the appropriate H&S awareness/implementation.
• Any other task as directed by the account management team.
Person Specification/Requirements:
• City and Guilds 236 A&B (2360 parts 1 and 2) and IEE 18th edition, and/or NVQ Level 3
• Formally trained/apprenticeship/qualified as an electrician, with a good understanding of electrical disciplines.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all building services, BMS and Electrical Installations.
• Experience of working within an NHS or Healthcare environment would be advantageous
• Demonstrable experience within a similar role
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people of all levels of seniority
• A recognised Health and Safety Qualification, such as NEBOSH preferred.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all building services
• Ability to fault find on both Mechanical and Electrical Plant and Equipment
• Diligent and pro-active.
• Ability to prioritise and act on own initiative.
• Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Must be able to read and work to mechanical and electrical schematic drawings.
• Good all-round knowledge of general building services, diagnostic and repair procedures.
